Dual Lane Design for High Throughput
The dual lane design allows for a higher throughput of parcels, more than doubling the throughput of the Xstream Compact Sliding Shoe Sorter. The system typically utilizes two Semi-Automated Bulk Singulators to increase the amount of parcels inducted into the system. Parcels are dimensioned, weighed, and scanned with a DWS tunnel using scales and cameras. The cameras are capable of scanning multiple barcodes printed on the parcel. These barcodes can be an IMPB or other commercial types of barcodes. After the parcels pass the DWS tunnel, they’re conveyed towards the sorting conveyor consisting of slats with sliding shoes. The shoes then divert the parcel into the designated output determined using NPI’s state-of-the-art web based software.
